About the Author

My extended family environment, rooted in a multicultural and multiple religious backgrounds, in collaboration with a Business Management and Human Resources background, is responsible for the views I hold on the ideal shape of society and its numerous cultures and business ventures including football business.

On the side of my late mother, Albertinah formally (Manyathi) Zulu the influence was predominantly Zionistic. She later became a Catholic. My late father, Daniel (Manxele) Khatide had both Methodist and seventh Day Adventist convictions. His people had roots in the Mahon Mission teachings which were later overtaken by two mentioned denominations.

At the face f the permanent separation of my parents I came under the influence of several paternal relatives the majority of whom happened to be Sabbath Keepers while the others were Methodist. Their teachings form part my frame of refence to date .

My football involvement began as early as my primary school days playing and intermittently assuming the role of captain till I finished school. At club level my participation scope broadened to include refereeing over and above playing and captaining. I carried out these roles in several townships including Intabazwe in Harrismith, Zamani in Memel, Namahadi in Frankfort and Diepkloof in Soweto.

I subsequently served in several local football associations on an executive level as well as in the capacity of coaching the representative football team on behalf of the association. I also served in the executive committee of Moroka Swallows Development Structures in several capacities including coaching the reserve team fort several years.

I served the Orlando Pirates Football Club as a Human Resources Director for four seasons during which time I also operated as general secretary for the Yebo Yes division.

Beyond football involvement. I am a preacher, motivational speaker, Human Resources and Business Strategies Consultant. I hold an MBA degree. I am the husband to Elizabeth Hilda and a father of five; Mandla, Khosi, Sibusiso, Sandile and Sanele.
